Chicago, IL

Confession--this blog is being written 2-3 weeks after the visit with my sister and her family in Chicago.  Yeah...a bit behind!  We are currently in Council Bluffs/Omaha.  We will leave here on Wednesday afternoon to see friends in Colorado Springs.  From there, we will boogie to Seattle to watch my goddaughter, Amanda, graduate.  Then, we begin the long, beautiful trek to Alaska.  Anyway, that is the plan.  The next few blog entires are "old" before I write them.

Our time in Chicago was focused on family--perfect!  We watched/listened to Eli play The National Anthem, with his middle school band, for a baseball game.  All of us rode into Chicago to see Emma's apartment near her college.  While in town, we ate at a wonderful restaurant, Native Food Cafe--a veggie's dream!  I could eat anything on the menu without asking for substitutes or eliminations!  (Silly, but YES, it was a thrill!) Over the weekend, Matt and I feel in love with their new dog, Maisy.  We took walks and just enjoyed the company.  It was a restful, but family-full weekend!

This is my new favorite restaurant--I can eat ANYTHING on the menu!
(Definitely a "first"!)
